OUTCOME OF PROCEEDINGS of : Working Party on Customs Union (Customs Legislation and Policy) on : 19-20 July 2006

Subject : Implementation of the Customs Union and relations with third countries and international organizations in customs matters

• 1. 

  Adoption of the agenda

  The agenda as laid down in doc. CM 2574/06 was adopted, with the addition of the following

  item under "Any other business":

  • - 

    Regulation (EC) No 648/2005 i of the European parliament and of the Council of 13 April 2005 amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92 i establishing the

    Community Customs Code - Implementing Provisions (at the request of the Commission services).

  Results of the 107th/108th WCO Council Sessions, 29 June - 1 July 2006

    presentation by the Commission services

The Working Party heard of presentation of the above item by the Commission services.

The Chair concluded that: - the Community position on the new Section N of the Authorised Economic Operator document would be coordinated at the Working Party meeting on 7-8 September 2006; - the Community position at the next meeting of the High Level Strategy Group on 19- 20 October 2006 would be coordinated at one of the forthcoming Working Party meetings.

  Proposal for a Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an action programme for customs in the Community (Customs 2013)

  The Working Party heard of presentation of the above item by the Commission services and took note of delegations' comments. The Chair, having invited delegations to submit their comments in writing to the Council Secretariat before 9 August 2006, indicated that a Presidency compromise would be circulated by end-August in view of the Working Party meeting on 7-8 September 2006.
