The EU-level postal employers' organisation POSTEUROP and the European trade union federation in the sector, UNI Europa Post & Logistics, signed a new joint declaration, underlining that constructive social dialogue is necessary to better manage the social dimension of change in postal companies.

Against the backdrop of the restructuring of postal operators because of technological change and the completion of postal market opening in all Member States, the social partners reiterate their commitment to social dialogue and pledge to continue their EU-level monitoring of social developments in the sector.

The declaration also calls upon national social partners to anticipate change through dialogue, develop workers' employability to promote mobility and encourage investment in the postal sector.

The declaration of the EU social partners has been negotiated in the framework of the European sectoral social dialogue committee for postal services, supported by the Commission in line with the Treaty.
