• 1. 

  On 4 April 2016, the Commission submitted to the Council its proposal for a Council

  Decision on the conclusion, by the Commission, of the Agreement between the European Atomic Energy Community and the Government of the Republic of India for research and development cooperation in the field of the peaceful uses of nuclear energy .

• 2. 

  This agreement was negotiated on the basis of negotiating directives approved by the Council on 3 July 2009.

• 3. 

  Following its meetings on 18 April and 6 June 2016, 28 March, 11 April and 6 and 16 May

  2019 and 27 January 2020, the Joint Research/Atomic Questions Working Party has reached agreement on the approval of this Agreement.

• 4. 

  It is suggested, therefore, that the Permanent Representatives Committee recommends that the Council adopts, as an "A" item, the Decision approving the conclusion of the Agreement as

  set out in documents 5647/20 RECH 15 ATO 2 ASIE 5 and 5648/20 RECH 16 ATO 3 ASIE 6 as finalised by the legal linguists.
