CEJI - "A Jewish contribution to Inclusion Europe" has received the first BMW Group award for intercultural commitment for its Grundtvig i-funded project "Belieforama". The project, which provides training on interreligious and intercultural understanding, was chosen amongst 300 international competitors from 40 countries and will subsequently receive prize money as well as technical and practical assistance from BMW Group employees for a year.

The award delivered by BMW aims to support persons and their projects that encourage people from different backgrounds to give up outdated prejudices and join hands in understanding each other and working together. On November 18, 2010, this prize rewarded the newly created "Belieforama Community of Practice", derived from the Grundtvig-funded project "Religious diversity and Anti-discrimination training", which had already received in 2008 the European Golden award for Adult education delivered by the European Commission.

The training programme developed by CEJI is designed in the spirit of anti-prejudice diversity education: to recognise and respect multicultural diversity, to confront prejudice and discrimination and to develop intercultural skills. It is open to adult educators, who can receive Grundtvig grants to attend the training courses and welcomes people of all faiths, beliefs, and sense of religious and non-religious belonging.
