Over the past two years independent Austrian MEP Hans-Peter Martin i registered 1,427 e-mails and letters from lobbyists. On average, he had three lobbying attempts per work day, including invitations to dinners, conferences, trips, receptions, concerts and theatre. In 315 cases, lobbyists actively sought to influence his voting behaviour.
