Europees GNSS-agentschap viert eerste verjaardag (en)

On October 15th, the European GNSS Agency (GSA), now based in Prague, celebrated its first birthday.

Under the theme "GSA, the tool to implement the Galileo Satellite Navigation programme", a high-level roundtable was held at the European Parliament, on invitation of Mr Vittorio Prodi i, President of the Sky and Space Intergroup.

Other personalities were attending the roundtable, like Mrs Amalia Sartori i, MEP and Chair of the ITRE committee, Mr Marian Jan Marinescu, MEP and member of the TRAN committee, Mr Norbert Glante i, MEP and member of the ITRE committee and Mrs Jutta Haug i, MEP and Vice-Chair of the BUDG committee.

Mr Jean-Jacques Dordain from the European Space Agency, and Mr Carlo Des Dorides, Director of the GSA were present as well.

Vice-President of the European Commission Antonio Tajani delivered the closing remarks of the State of Play.

Additional presentations were made by Vice-President Mercedes Bresso i ("The regions at the forefront for the implementation and the use of Galileo”), by Mr Gard Ueland, Chairman of Galileo Services (“Building European GNSS downstream market”), by Mr Hermann Garbers, Member of the CEMA Executive Board (“Satellite navigation tools for precise agriculture”), while Mr Daniel Calleja Crespo, Director General of DG Enterprise and Industry, made the closing remarks.

The GSA's exhibition was officially inaugurated after the roundtable.
