Jean Rey Award, Brussel - Hoofdinhoud

The Jean Rey Prize is awarded to a political figure, scientist, academic or economist of international standing for their humanist and universal qualities.

This award is a tribute to Jean Rey who illustrated liberal thinking. He was President of the Commission of the European Communities, and was elected to the European parliament on the first elections of its members by popular vote in 1979.

This year, the award will be go to Ms. Bogaletch Gebre for her outstanding work on the empowerment of women in Ethiopia, her home country.
