Nauwere banden tussen Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité en de Raad (en) - Hoofdinhoud

For the first time, the EESC President, accompanied by the Presidents of the three Groups will meet with the President of the Council, Mr. Herman Van Rompuy in the preparation of the European Council summit on 24 and 25 October 2013.

This meeting is organised within the framework of a new partnership agreement between the two European institutions aiming to strengthen their relationship. For the Committee, this closer collaboration is an important means of ensuring that the European institutions take better account of its work. But it is also a way for them to better listen to civil society and to come closer to the citizens, at a time when the gap with Europe has never been greater.
