Openbare consultatie INTERREG van start (en)

Met dank overgenomen van Comité van de Regio's (CvdR) i, gepubliceerd op vrijdag 10 januari 2014.

‘INTERREG EUROPE’, the interregional cooperation programme 2014-2020 is currently being shaped. It supports EU regions in exchanging experience, knowledge and good practices to design and implement regional policies and programmes more effectively. INTERREG EUROPE focuses in particular on the Structural and Investment Funds programmes for Growth and Jobs and, where relevant, for the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC).

In order to take into account the needs and views of stakeholders, the INTERREG EUROPE partner states have launched a public consultation which is directed at local, regional and national authorities, economic and social partners as well as bodies representing thematic groupings and civil society, including environmental partners, non-governmental organisations, etc. The results of the consultation will contribute to improving the shape of the future programme and ensuring its sound implementation.

The survey is open from 10 January until 21 March 2014.

  • Strengthening research, technological development and innovation
  • Enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs
  • Supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors
  • Protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency

The programme will fund interregional cooperation projects under the four thematic objectives supported. It will also provide assistance to all European regions through policy learning platforms covering the four thematic objectives. Covering the whole territory of the European Union (EU), Norway and Switzerland, the programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with a budget of €359 million for the 2014-2020 period.
