Coastal management and planning workshop, Turijn - Hoofdinhoud

The first National Workshop of the LIFE+IMAGINE project (LIFE12 ENV/IT/001054) will take place from 4 to 6pm on 18 September at the Centro Convegni Lingotto in Turin, within the framework of the XII IAEG Congress "Engineering Geology for Society and Territory". The workshop will introduce the LIFE+ IMAGINE project and explore the generation of new and interoperable information for coastal management and planning. Case studies from the field will also be presented. All institutions, professionals, researchers, scientists and stakeholders that have an interest in geological and territorial planning issues are invited to take part.

LIFE+ IMAGINE is a three-year project that began in 2012 and which looks at the integrated management of coastal zones and the implementation of environmental policies in this field. Using methodologies for environmental analysis it aims to provide coastal area managers with information to support coastal planning and decision-making regarding soil sealing impacts and landslides - scenarios specifically relevant to the Liguria/Tuscany coast in Italy. To do this, the project will use a framework based on web services for environmental analysis, which integrates specifications and results from INSPIRE, SEIS and GMES/Copernicus information systems.
