The workshop is organised by the Policy Department A Economic & Scientific Policy for the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) Working Group Health.

Today’s food environments exploit people’s biological, psychological, social, and economic vulnerabilities, making it easier for them to consume unhealthy foods (loaded with agro-chemical toxic products, GMOs, sugars, refined salt, saturated fats, etcetera) . This reinforces preferences and demands for foods of poor nutritional quality, furthering the consumption of unhealthy food. To create a healthier situation we need better regulations and more responsible attitudes from industry, professionals and citizens.
