Lezing

Stathis Kalyvas (Yale University) addresses the role of Greece in European financial and economic crises, but also examines Greece's role in light of the populist upsurge.

How could an economic crisis hitting a very small economy become a cause for Europe-wide and even global concern? Stahis Kalyvas will examine various dimensions of this crisis to argue that whereas the Greek crisis acted as a lighting rod for Eurozone design flaws, it was also a precursor of the current populist turn in the politics of advanced industrial nations.

Stathis N. Kalyvas is Arnold Wolfers Professor of Political Science and Director of the Program on Order, Conflict, and Violence at Yale University.
