The Heads of the EU’s Justice and Home Affairs Agencies and high-level EU representatives will meet at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) to discuss joint actions to support the implementation of the EU’s priorities in the area of freedom, security and justice on 28 November in Lisbon.

Agency heads are meeting EU Commissioner Avramopoulos, European Commission Director Generals and representatives from the European Parliament, EU Council as well as current and future EU Presidencies to discuss the implementation of EU security and migration policies. Participants will give practical examples of agency cooperation in 2017 and how their collaboration can further support EU institutions and Member States. Participants will also reflect on further avenues for cooperation in 2018. The Agencies will jointly report to EU Council’s Standing Committee on operational cooperation on internal security (COSI) on progress and achievements at the end of the year. The network s currently chaired by EMCDDA. The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) will chair the network in 2018.

Het agentschap is een voortzetting van het Europees Waarnemingscentrum voor Racisme en Vreemdelingenhaat en is sinds 1 maart 2007 in de huidige vorm operationeel.
