Talk of citizens' distrust in democracy as a mode of government has become widespread. This event will present findings of a recent Pew Research Center survey of 38 countries, showing that people continue to believe in representative democracy, even if growing numbers endorse alternative forms of government, as well as look at a report from IDEA International, which finds that democracy today is healthier than many contend, but cannot be taken for granted.
