Ahead of the European Elections in May 2019, the European Parliament today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ENEX - European News Exchange - representing 56 private TV outlets.

The partnership will deepen the cooperation between the two sides to ensure wide coverage of the European elections.

With the Memorandum of Understanding, the European Parliament and ENEX confirm their strong willingness to cooperate on the media coverage of the European elections, by reinforcing the collaboration between the teams, facilitating access to editorial content and raw material, and organising ad-hoc workshops and briefings for journalists from the ENEX affiliates in the Member States.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Jaume Duch, Director-General for Communication and spokesperson of the European Parliament and Adrian Wells, Managing Director for ENEX.

“Private TV outlets play a crucial role in informing citizens about the importance of the upcoming elections, and I am very glad that we have established a solid cooperation between Parliament and the TV stations to facilitate the coverage of the elections for their partners,” said EP spokesperson Jaume Duch after the signature.
