Do you have a lot of ideas on how we can achieve a successful climate transition? Are you burning to share them with us? We, the European Commission, want to hear from you. We would like to invite you to participate to a Citizens’ Dialogue on the Green Deal on the 11th and 12th of December in Madrid.

What does the European Commission do? We are responsible for proposing new laws on all kinds of issues such as setting targets for the next few decades in order to reduce carbon emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, and maximizing energy efficiency. One of the main priorities of the next few years for the EU is going to be the European Green Deal. The EU will present its strategy for the Green Deal on the morning of the 11th of December.

This is where you come in!

A Citizens’ Dialogue is an opportunity for you to express your opinion on what this Deal should be. On the 11th of December, experts will explain the main challenges and trade-offs for a European Green Deal. Then, together with fellow citizens, you can bring your views to the table and discuss their effectiveness in the Green Deal strategy.

  • December 11: Citizens’ Engagement Workshop
  • Venue: MEEU (Estación de Chamartín s/n, Cota 13 Local 6, Sala DEMO3)

Sounds good? After your intense round of brainstorming, European Commission Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans will join you in dialogue on the 12th of December, at the location of the COP25 in Madrid, to listen to what you have come up with and discuss your ideas of what you think the EU should be doing to fight climate change.

  • December 12: Citizens’ Dialogue with European Commission Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans
  • Venue: COP25, IFEMA, Agora of the Green Zone, Pavilion 1
