How do we — as not always purely rational beings — put knowledge and reason at the heart of political decision-making? Can we take evidence-informed policy-making for granted? And what can we do to defend this cornerstone of liberal democracy? A recent report on 'Our political nature' by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) offers new insights into our political behaviour, with the potential to address some of the current crises in our democracies. […]

Sixty experts from across the globe working in the fields of behavioural and social sciences, as well as the humanities, contributed to the research that underpins the JRC report. The JRC's David MAIR will present key findings on misperception and disinformation, collective intelligence, emotions, values and identities, framing, metaphor and narratives, as well trust and openness, to this joint EPRS-JRC policy roundtable. Please join this timely conversation on how we think - and how we can boost enlightenment 2.0.
