The Slovenian EU Council Presidency will be hosting the international Future Unlocked conference on the established Creativeforum.si platform from 13 to 14 September 2021.

Discussions over the two days will focus on the role of the cultural and creative sectors in the green transition, social innovation, economic growth and in attaining sustainable development goals.

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Centre for Creativity, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the conference brings together representatives of EU institutions and participants from the Western Balkans and the Southern Neighbourhood. State Secretary Gašper Dovžan will be taking part in the high-level panel entitled “Cultural and creative sectors as drivers of peace and stability”.

Slovenia has traditionally advocated the significance of culture in international relations and strives to incorporate it into the European external action. The conference will therefore provide an excellent opportunity to review best practices of intercultural programmes and seek models to strengthen and develop them further. Representatives of EU partner institutions and member states will also discuss how to strengthen the role of international cultural relations and contribute to international peace and stability.

More information on the conference programme and its eminent guests is available at Creativeforum.si.
