The Political and Security Committee (PSC) is an ambassador-level body responsible for the EU’s foreign and security policy, where member states continuously monitor current issues of international relations, their effects on the situation and security of the EU and its member states, and the EU’s possible responses. The PSC exercises political control and provides strategic guidance concerning the EU’s civil and military crisis management operations. The body is led by the Permanent President, who is appointed by the European External Action Service.
