At this meeting, organised by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the outgoing Trio Presidency (Poland, Denmark, Cyprus) will brief the incoming Trio Presidency (Ireland, Lithuania, Greece) on developments and outstanding issues and will officially hand over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics. Apart from the six Member States involved, representatives of the European Commission (Eurostat) and the Council General Secretariat will also be invited.

Van 1 juli tot en met 31 december 2012 vervulde Cyprus het voorzitterschap i van de Raad van de Europese Unie i. Cyprus nam het stokje over van Denemarken i. Tijdens het voorzitterschap werkte Cyprus nauw samen in een trojka i met Polen en Denemarken, die voor Cyprus het voorzitterschap van de EU bekleedden.
Ierland i nam op 1 januari 2013 het voorzitterschap van Cyprus over.
