The “Hamburg Summit” was initiated by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in 2004 as a platform for an open dialogue between Europe and China with the goal to improve the economic relations and the understanding of each other.

Statement on the Hamburg Summit by Nikolaus W. Schües

The “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe” was initiated in 2004 following the idea of being a fair platform bringing business, politics and academia together and discussing the relevant questions in Sino-European relations.

For the sixth time the “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe” 2014 addresses the most pressing issues for both economic regions - be it the influence of Chinese investments on the European economy, the stereotypes in the mutual perception, the bilateral trade relations, or the path China will take in order to become a more sustainable economy. We are delighted that Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend the upcoming "Hamburg Summit" as our guest of honour of the Chinese government and as one of the keynote speakers.

You are cordially invited to join us at the “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe” 2014! Let´s meet in Hamburg to discuss how to cope with the challenges lying ahead and to contribute to a deeper mutual understanding between China and Europe!
