The briefing, hosted by the Director-General for Education and Culture Mr Xavier Prats Monné, is open to the media and will also be webstreamed live.
Background
The Education and Training Monitor is the third edition in an annual series that charts the evolution of education and training systems across Europe. It provides a picture of each country's progress in relation to specific benchmarks and indicators and highlights the latest policy developments and analyses.
While focused on empirical evidence, each section in the Monitor has clear policy messages for the Member States.
The Education and Training Monitor 2014 supports the implementation of the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020) by strengthening evidence-based policy-making and by linking it more closely to the broader Europe 2020 strategy and the country-specific recommendations (CSRs) adopted by the Council as part of the 2014 European Semester.

As of 12 November the Education and Training Monitor will be available online accompanied by 28 individual country reports, a fully updated visualisation tool and additional data from the Joint Research Centre.
