Mission: Specific responsibilities of the Customs Business Group are to support the Commission with •developing, improving, operating and supporting the European Information Systems for customs •reinforcing the skills and competences of customs officials •improving administrative capacity of the customs authority •analysing business documentation such as studies, business architecture, business cases (or cost-benefits analysis) •issuing business requirements BPM level 3, functional requirements BPM level 4, business data model and management, business acceptance documents, go-decisions for important phases in the projects.

Activity report: To brainstorm on new customs initiatives with stakeholders and experts. Proposals may be submitted either by the Commission or the delegations. To propose draft customs business documents such as studies, description of scenarios, business case, business process models (BPM Level 1-4), etc for discussion, feed-back and review. To check and validate requests for changes to those documents. To verify the results of the conformance testing of EIS from a business point of view (based on business acceptance test criteria) and give green light for starting operations. Online collaboration should be considered and included. Customs 2020 programme measurement activities in view of the performance framework will be applied.
