Deze expertgroep [EU] i (nr. E03435) adviseert de Europese Commissie (Directoraat-generaal Migratie en Binnenlandse Zaken (HOME) i) bij het opstellen van nieuwe wetgeving en nieuw beleid. Expertgroepen zijn samengesteld uit deskundigen van nationale overheden, vertegenwoordigers van belangenorganisaties en/of experts uit het bedrijfsleven.

Scope: Broad

Mission: The HLEG's mission is to help developing a joint strategy to make data management in the Union more effective and efficient, in full respect of data protection requirements, to better protect its external borders and to enhance its internal security.

Task: (a) to give advice and assist the Commission in order to achieve the interoperability and interconnection of information systems and data management for border management and security; (b) to develop an overall strategic vision on the interoperability and interconnection of information systems and on a more effective and efficient data management for border management and security in the Union ; (c) to establish cooperation and coordination between the Commission and Member States on questions relating to the implementation of Union legislation on the interoperability and interconnection of information systems and data management for border management and security in the Union.

Activity Report The HLEG foresees five meeting between June 2016 and May 2017. The first meeting of the group will take place on 20 June 2016. The dates of the next meetings will be made available once the meetings are confirmed.Selection Procedure (members) The group will be composed of members of Type D - Member States’ authorities and Type E - other public entities, such as authorities from non-EU countries (including candidate countries), EU bodies, offices or agencies, and international organisations.Internal Rules of Procedure Internal rules of procedure presented during the first meeting of the group of 20 June 2016 and adopted by silence procedure on 27 June 2016.
