Eurogroup statement on the updated draft budgetary plans of Austria for 2018 - Hoofdinhoud
The Eurogroup welcomes Austria's submission of an updated draft budgetary plan (DBP) for 2018, as requested in its statement of 4 December 2017, as well as the Commission opinion issued on 12 April 2018.
We agree with the Commission opinion that the draft budget of Austria is broadly compliant with the requirements of the preventive arm of the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP). The Eurogroup invites Austria to ensure compliance with SGP provisions within the national budgetary processes and welcomes its commitment to take any necessary measures.
We note that Germany and Spain plan to submit updated DBPs in the course of this year. We invite them to do so as soon as possible and look forward to the Commission assessment of those updates.
We will continue to monitor euro area member states' fiscal and economic policies, as well as the budgetary situation of the euro area as a whole.
