The seminar will bring together researchers supported by the European Research Council (ERC) and the Research Executive Agency (REA). The event will provide a forum for exchange between EC-funded researchers, interested stakeholders and EU staff on the role of science in and for diplomacy.
In addition, the seminar will also highlight the complementarity of ‘bottom-up’ and ‘top-down’ funding approaches in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020).

'Science Diplomacy and Climate Change: A conversation with Eystein Jansen and Halvard Buhaug'
Halvard Buhaug and Eystein Jansen - both ERC grantees and contributors to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) - will discuss the contribution of science diplomacy to tackling climate change.
Dit agentschap i werd in 2007 opgericht en wordt sinds 15 juli 2009 autonoom bestuurd. Waar de wetenschappelijke raad van de Europese Onderzoeksraad de wetenschappelijke strategie en methodologieën vastlegt, is het agentschap ERCEA verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering.
