Brexit: final committee vote tomorrow on the EU-UK withdrawal agreement

The Constitutional Affairs Committee to vote on whether to make a positive recommendation on the terms of the UK withdrawal agreement, on Thursday afternoon.

The Withdrawal Agreement is expected to be fully ratified in the UK today, Wednesday.

Once this process has been completed, the European Parliament will initiate the procedure to approve the Withdrawal Agreement at its Constitutional Affairs Committee meeting at 16.00 on Thursday. The Constitutional Affairs Committee must give its consent for the Withdrawal Agreement to be tabled in the EP plenary for final approval.

Before the committee votes, there will be a statement by Chair Antonio Tajani (EPP, IT) as well as a discussion with Parliament’s Brexit coordinator Guy Verhofstadt (Renew Europe i, BE) and political group coordinators. MEPs in the Constitutional Affairs Committee (in particular UK MEPs) will also make interventions.
