The European Summit of Regions and Cities is the largest gathering organised by the European Committee of the Regions for local and regional elected representatives to meet, share and have their say on what is happening in the European Union and its future. If you are one of the 1,2 million locally and regionally elected representatives or you are involved in the life and future of your community, this is your place to be!

Mons 2024

For its 10^th edition, which coincides with the 30^th anniversary of the European Committee of the Regions, the Summit will tackle topics at the heart of regions and cities' concerns, such as democracy, sustainable development, the future of the European Union and its enlargement, the need to ensure social, economic and territorial cohesion, as well as dealing with the consequences of the war against Ukraine. Global challenges will be addressed by bringing together different perspectives from across the world.

The Summit will take place in Mons, in the Walloon Region of Belgium and at the heart of Europe. It will be organised by the Committee of the Regions and by the Walloon Region, in association with the City of Mons

Wallonia brings together culture, innovation and unique traditions, and Mons is a perfect example of it. It will be the place for all mayors, local councillors ​​​​and regional ministers but also top European and global decision-makers to discuss the key challenges of our time!

The Walloon Region will host the 10^th European Summit of Regions and Cities in the context of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
