On 20 June (16.00 to 18.30), the BUDG committee will hold a public hearing entitled "Preparing for the MFF post-2020: assessing strengths and weaknesses of the current MFF system and its relation to the Europe 2020 strategy", under the responsibility of the MFF co-rapporteurs Jan Olbrycht (EPP) and Isabelle Thomas (S&D).
Keynote speeches will be held by the Budget Commissioner Günther Oettinger, Mihails Kozlovs (Member of the European Court of Auditors), Ákos Kengyel (Associate Professor, Corvinus University of Budapest) and Margit Schratzenstaller (Austrian Institute of Economic Research). A discussion with Members will follow.

Deze parlementaire commissie houdt zich bezig met de begroting van inkomsten en uitgaven van de Europese Unie. De commissie komt regelmatig bijeen om te debatteren over de jaarlijkse begroting en de financiële meerjarenplanning van de EU.
De commissie telt 41 leden. De belangrijkste taak van deze commissieleden is het onderhandelen over en de vaststelling van de jaarlijkse EU-begroting, uit deze begroting worden alle belangrijke beleidsmaatregelen en programma's gefinancierd.
